Bride fears money lost after photographer cancels
Posted On : Jan 30, 2012The importance of investing in wedding insurance may have been highlighted by the case of a couple from the north-east who have been left out of pocket following problems with their photographer.
Christopher Kerr and Ashley Woods told the Sunderland Echo how they paid £399 upfront for Rose Ellen Bennett to take snaps of them on their big day later this year.
However, the photographer has since cancelled the job and has still not refunded the bride and groom.
Ms Woods explained how she hired Ms Bennett after finding her wedding package was cheaper than many other competitors.
"We thought that the money we had saved on the photographers could be used for other things. Now we are the ones out of pocket," the 24-year-old stated.
The news comes after dozens of couples were left without a venue for their big day following the recent announcement Georgian mansion Chewton Place in Bath has ceased trading.
