Wedding insurance 'is a sensible option'
Posted On : Feb 21, 2012Wedding insurance is a vital part of planning a big day, as there are so many things that could potentially go wrong.
This is according to advice given by financial research company Defaqto, which urged couples to ensure they read policies carefully to check the cover meets their needs.
Mike Powell, Defaqto's insight analyst for general insurance, said: "Weddings are very expensive and there are often many costs that have to be paid. Therefore it is really worthwhile to get appropriate insurance as soon as money is committed."
Brides and grooms were warned they stand to lose cash if they forgo investing in a policy, as a venue may go bust, caterers could fail to provide services, photographers may experience problems with their equipment and redundancy could result in ceremonies being postponed.
President of the US Association of Bridal Consultants David Wood recently commented that wedding insurance costs a fraction of what it covers and so is a wise choice.
